Alaska Frontier Trappers Association Academic Scholarship Program
Eligibility:
Alaska resident or an immediate family member of AFTA who is a current member in good standing.
Who may apply:
You must be in currently in high school or currently or entering college or graduate school student of any level. Home schooled students are also eligible. There is no age limit. You must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
Application period:
September 1 through March 31
Selection period:
Committee to meet in April
Annually in May - Awarded for following school year (or semester)
Submission requirements:
Cover letter
2 letters of recommendation (from non-family members)
Copy of: GED or HS diploma / HS transcripts or College transcripts
Acceptance letter from a college

General information:
Applicants may apply annually. All applications must be submitted either via email, mailed or in person with all documents attached. All documents must be received no later than March 31 at 11:59pm AST (Alaska Standard Time) Checks for amount of award will be issued in selectee’s name to college or university being attended. Scholarships are awarded annually and may be used for tuition, books or living expenses at any university, college or institution offering accredited courses and degrees. Statement of the Committee is final and cannot be appealed.
